I would have been ok with Hamlets decision if he would have killed Claudius right there while he was praying. But at the same time i am glad that he waited until the time when Claudius was in the middle of a sin or sleeping. He wanted to make sure that Claudius would go to hell for his crime. If he would have killed him while he was praying it would have sent him to heaven. Hamlet was upset by the fact that his dad was murdered offguard, he wants to do the same to Claudius. He wants to catch Claudius offguard just like his father's death to make things even.
When Hamlet does all of this it really makes everyone (including me) believe that he is going insane. Most people who would be trying to kill someone wouldnt try to make that person go to hell. They would just do it. But Hamlet wanted to make sure that Claudius went to hell. It makes me feel like Hamlet was trying to play god by deciding if Claudius would go to heaven or hell.
