In the (Kenneth) Branagh version, it was more of a scary ghost scene. The music was high and frightening, and it took place in the woods. Hamlet, in this version was so sad and glooomy, he was dressed in all black to show how he felt on the inside. I like this one because during the ghost scene it flashes back to the point where Hamlets father died.
This is not show as much in the (Franco) Zeffirelli version. In this one Hamlet is more angry than upset. The ghost is really mad when explaining his situation to Hamlet. The setting in this was also kind of dark and mysterious as well.
In the (Michael) Almereyda version it was alot more modern.
